Series 1 Episode 3 Technology, should we embrace it, or reject it for a simple life?
Technology can help us in working towards a more simple life. But, how do we decide when to use technology, and when to avoid it. My needs in the forest are examined, so are lessons from the Amish and Arthur the Ardvark!
This is the cast irom pump on my well dating from 1908. It looks nice, and works well in summer, but in winter is freezes and is not able to pump water at all!
This is the all weather pump I fitted to provide emergency water in power outages, it also fills watering cans in the summer. It is fully insulated over the winter months.
The old iron pump will continue to look majestic on top of the well.
And as promised the episode of Arthur where Buster Baxter becomes obsessed with the Amish lifestyle. It is in four short videos, im afraid!
